Moving Sand

From the end of the river jetties to 36th street this orange fence is blocking off the pathway of these earth moving machines...(that's a technical term)
There's been some really bad erosion along Newport Beach so the machines are moving sand down the beach...
I thought California was broke?

Mr. and Mrs. Ryan and Jenny Foss

Last Saturday we went up to Burbank and celebrated the wedding of Ryan and Jenny!
It was such a great wedding and the reception was way too much fun so I forgot to take photos!

Jenny's Bachelorette Weekend

Carrie got to help Jenny celebrate her upcoming marriage to Ryan with her and her friends! The bachelorette party was a ton of fun! We got driven around in jeeps and went wine tasting in the Santa Ynez area. Wine tasting is the best way to celebrate!

Hilary and Carrie in between the tastings.

Soon to be cousins!

Happy New Year!!!!

On New Year's Day Simon and I got to help put together an impromptu, spur of the moment, and extremely intimate wedding for Taylor and Leslie. Though our duties were many including filming and photographing, we declared ourselves Best Man and Matron of Honor!
We are very excited for them both and especially for Leslie to be part of the family!  We can definitely say that they are made for each other, and we are so excited for their new addition this summer!

Espana!

Simon's folks just moved from Dubai to Spain! So we took that as an opportunity to have a vacation! We flew out to see them and surprised his mum!

Grilled sardines! They were soooo good!

Carole didn't know we were coming until she saw us get off the train! She's crying in this picture!

Audrey Kate Greywoode

2 Months Old!
Carrie got to fly out to Philly and visit Audrey (side note: Ashley and Jewel were also there).  She tried to pick up some mothering 101 while being around Audrey. She learned 4 things while there:
1. Not dropping the baby is the first and arguably the most important step to being a good mum.
2. Baby hair is really fun to style.
3. Steering a baby stroller is more difficult than it looks.
4. Stroller's are also a good way to carry wine home from the store.

The Friendly Skies

Taking off from Winnepeg, Canada.. it was -35 degrees! and snowing...
We had a pressurization problem so had to wear the masks for oxygen and Carrie could sit in the flight deck as it was a positioning flight with no passengers.
This was the first time Carrie had been able to sit in the flight deck with me as her pilot! She is quite happy..
landing back in Denver.

Beginner's Luck of a Thanksgiving

So Ashley "decided" to give birth 2 weeks early... Stancie hearing that was on a flight to Philly within a few hours... which left Carrie and the rest of the family to figure out how to put together a Thanksgiving dinner.
Amazingly, it went off without a hitch....we were soon told it was beginner's luck.

Notice Rusty in the background keeping a close watch on the turkey!
Tom, Simon and Carrie brined the turkey the day before, but had trouble keeping the turkey totally emerged. Tom gets credit for this ingenious solution. Duct Tape really does fix everything... Duct Tape and Tom.

Audrey Kate Greywoode

Our Baby Niece born November 20th!

The Money Pit

We have often look at each other adoringly and lovingly into each others eyes and ask
"what did we get ourselves into?"
Lots of appliances... none of which worked! One of the main problems with fixing up a home is disposing of all the materials... it costs almost as much as the fixing up!
The pile of 1960's tile which just had to go!
Tom basically has 2 full time jobs....one that everyone knows about, and a second one working at our house.  We couldn't have done this without him!
The Princess Room which had been all pink and purple..

The Fixer Upper

One week we were looking for a home...
The next week we decided to wait...
A day later...
We put an offer on THE biggest fixer upper in Orange County.
Unfortunately, the fire pit had to go.

We had 1960's tile all through the house which we got rid of.. then this strange piece of carpet placed in the middle of the living room?

California here we come!

We were so excited to be making the drive, we did it with minimal stops.. hence the lack of photos!
